Makalu base camp trekking is one of the most loved trekking trails in Nepal and it is one of the frequently organized trekking package by Nature Adventure Trekking and Expedition. It is located in the eastern part of Nepal. Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) is the fifth highest peaks in the world. The trekking to Makalu region is protected by Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project established in 1992.
One of the attractions of this region is that this region provides superb views of a number of mountains namely Mt. Makalu, Mt. Chamlang (7,319 m), Mt. Baruntse (7,129 m) among others, similarly, you will also have an opportunity to explore the varieties of flora and fauna, stunning landscapes, rocky and sloppy hills, the blend of culture of diverse ethnic groups living in the areas, endangered birds and animals and many more. Makalu Trekking is regarded to be low altitude trekking, as because the trekking revolves around low altitude areas, the trekking primarily centers around Arun valley, the trail that is consisted of stunning views of mountain, thick forest, varieties of plants so and so on. Makalu-Barun National Park itself is one of the attraction, which is the home of a numerous of species of birds and animals which are in the verge of extinction.
Makalu base camp trekking begins with flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and then the trail heads up to Khadbari the headquarter of Sankhuwasava district, where there are the settlements of many ethnic communities. Subsequently, the route passes through the lush forest, valley, reaches at Num, Seduwa, Tashingaon, Khongma, Dobatee, yanglekharka and the trail finally takes you to Makalu base camp and after making an excursion around, you will return back to Yangle Kharka and then subsequently to Khogma, Seduwa, and Num then drive 4-5 hrs back to Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu next morning.
Day 01:Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Nature Adventure Trekking & Expedition will greet you at the airport & transfer to Hotel.
Day 02:Half day Sightseeing in Kathmandu city with cultural tour guide and Trek Preparation day
Day 03:Kathmandu –Tumlingtar flight 45 minutes then trek starts to Khadbari 2 hrs.
Day 04:Drive by local jeep to Num village 4 hrs. Drive. (1560m)
Day 05: Num Village to Siduwa. (1500m.)
Day 06:Seduwa to Tashi Gaun (2100m.)
Day 07:Tashi Gaun to Khongma (3435m.)
Day 08:Acclimatization Day at Khongma
Day 09:Khongma to Dobaate (3375m.)
Day 10:Dobate to Yangle Kharka(3537m.)
Day 11:Yangle Kharka to Langmalee (4200m.)
Day 12:Langmalee to Makalu base camp (4870m.)
Day 13:Trek return back to Yangle kharka
Day 14:Yangle Kharka to Khongma
Day 15:Khongma to Tashi Gaun
Day 16:Tashi Gaun to Seduwa
Day 17:Seduwa to Num
Day 18:Drive back Num Village to Tumlingtar
Day 19:Flight back to ktm
Day 20:Extra day in case of bad weather
Day 21:Trip end. Final departure transfer to airport
