Panch Pokhari trekking begins with a short drive by jeep or public bus from Kathmandu to Chautara, the headquarter of Sindhupalchowk along the Kodari road, then the trail continues to Bhalephi Khola, and then follow a ridge to Bhairav Kunda, a holy lake located at 3500 meters. You can also return back from there to Tatopani through Kodari road or make a circuit around the head of the Balephi Khola valley and continue up to Panch Pokhari ('five lakes') located at the 3600 m. height.
