Saga Dawa Festival tour is one of the exciting tour for exploring the Tibetan culture, festivals and festivities. Saga Dawa festival is one of the important Tibetan Buddhist festival, which is held each year on the full moon day of the forth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar. This festival is celebrated in order to mark the days of Sakyamuni's enlightenment.
It is one of the most important religious festivals celebrated in Tibet. On this particular day, three-main events take place primarily the Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death. It is believed that if any person is involved in this festival the good deeds are multiplied thousand folds, therefore, a number of people take part in this festival. Saga Dawa Festival tour begins with drive from Kathmandu to Zhangmu or Nyalam and continue to Labug La, Peku-Tso-Saga, Paryang and finally reach at Chu Gumpa and then attend Saga Dawa festival in Tarboche and return back to Paryang and then Saga and then Nyalam or Zhagmu, subsequently to Kathmandu.
